Your staff stops chasing clinics for appointments, records, and bills. We handle coordination and follow-up.

Faster treatment

Clients get in front of the right specialist quickly, reducing gaps that weaken the medical record.

Organized records

Complete records and itemized bills delivered to your firm, sorted and ready to use.

One point of contact

One coordinator who knows the whole case, instead of a dozen clinics to track.

What we need

Very little to get started

We don't need much to begin coordinating care. A signed representation agreement and basic client and incident information submitted through the referral form is enough. We obtain signed HIPAA authorization directly from the client before requesting any records.

How liens & LOPs work

How liens and Letters of Protection (LOPs) protect your client and the case

A lien or LOP lets your client receive treatment now and allows the provider to be paid from the settlement — protecting both the patient's access to care and the continuity of the medical record.

A lien or Letter of Protection (LOP) is an agreement between the patient, the provider, and the attorney. The provider treats the patient on the understanding that payment will come from the case settlement. This means your client can get necessary care without paying out of pocket or using health insurance, and the provider is assured of payment at resolution. DocLien administers the lien or LOP paperwork so all parties are aligned and the documentation is in order.

FAQ

Questions attorneys ask

Straight answers to the things firms want to know before referring a case.

A lien or Letter of Protection (LOP) is an agreement in which a medical provider agrees to treat a patient and defer payment until the personal injury case resolves. The provider is paid from the settlement. There is no out-of-pocket cost to your client for the treatment arranged through DocLien, and no health insurance is required.
